Gasmu 360

Another post about Gasmu, this time a 360 spin animation.

Doing an animation like this makes it easier to draw him from all angles, which makes him look less flat in the final movie.

Cartoon Gasmu - The Flash Version

I decided to try to draw Gasmu Shigolev in Flash based on the sketches I had drawn. I've figured out a new technique which involves me drawing the head with my tablet (starting from an oval with guidelines drawn on it), then tracing the rough image with the line tool. On the left is the rough hand drawn image and on the right is the final smooth image. The difference is amazing.

CS5

Above is a screenshot from the flash movie. With CS5 I can do fake depth of field which makes it look very cinematic.

Cartoonizing Gasmu

I've been planning another flash movie in addition to the cop one. The idea is to make a cartoon in the style of Looney Tunes. Above are some sketches of the main character, Gasmu Shigolev (from "The Best Music Video Ever"). The cartoon will be about him trying to get an annoying Camex out of his house. Also, I've got the trial for Flash CS5 and it is awesome! I'm pretty sure I'll end up buying the full thing.

A Story I Wrote at 3 AM

Joe awoke, yes he did. Joe walked to the river and sat among the eggplant. He must collect seven, he knew. But seven was odd, as was the novelty toaster he had purchased at a garage sale in space. He was a sad man, which his art in fact reflected. No amounts of eggplants could do what he intended, but yet he continued to intend. The hat on his head was taller than the birdtree as wasn’t the one about which was he. Continued he was and the storm was free, terrorizing mountains. Mountains! Sleep it came.

Hungarian Spork Fencing

Mah compooter dun broked. My laptop. So now that I can't work on massachusetts smith, I'm going to work on my flash movie instead. Oh, and yes, that horrified gentleman atop this text is in the movie.
